Flood Risk Management 2010 (FRM2010) was a free showcase exhibition for the flood and water level management industry held on
Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 September 2010 at the East of England Showground in Peterborough.
The exhibition gave visitors the opportunity to keep abreast of the latest industry trends and techniques by meeting
market-leading manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and consultants. It was an excellent event where individuals were able
to network with each other and learn from examples of best practice.
The exhibition also played host to the ADA Conference 2010 on the afternoon of Wednesday 22 September. This allowed the
exhibitors and visitors to form new links with key flood risk stakeholders, such as Internal Drainage Boards, the Environment
Agency, Local Authorities, Natural England and Non-governmental bodies.
On Thursday 23 a number of free seminars were available to the exhibition visitors. The seminars were:
- The Natural England Biodiversity Competition 2010 was presented by Helen Philips (Natural England)
- Legislation, Government Policy and the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 by Jean Venables (ADA)
- The Challenges for Consorzi of adaption/mitigation of climate change by Laura Nola (ANBI)
- Assessing Flood Risk in Pumped Catchments by Jaap Flikweert (Royal Haskoning), Caroline McGahey (HR Wallingford) and Paul Samuels (HR Wallingford)
- Building Partnerships in Flood Risk Management by Sass Willis (Cambridgeshire Country Council) and David Hickman (Lincolnshire County Council)

The Association of Drainage Authorities has regularly organised exhibitions of suppliers, specialists, analysts and machinery
used by the flood risk management industry since the 1970s when the first ADA Demonstration was held on the bank of the
Vernatt's Drain near Spalding in Lincolnshire.
Preparations are already underway for a Working Demonstration in 2013.
