13/12/2009 - Vision for Internal Drainage Boards published
IDB Vision - front coverADA has collaborated with 122 Internal Drainage Boards (IDBs) from across England and Wales to develop A Vision for Internal Drainage Boards in England and Wales, which sets out what we see as the role for IDBs in the 21st Century. We hope the document provides a set of values and principles IDBs can work to and be proud of when promoting their purpose to others. IDBs need to be recognised as a key part of the future of water level management in this country, thus we would be delighted if individual boards wish to adopt these values as their own.

Such a Vision is essential as IDBs become part of local partnerships forming closer links with local authorities in preparation for the Flood and Water Management Bill (http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/flooding/policy/fwmb/index.htm).
