Join an ADA Committee | Help shape our agenda in 2023

ADA is seeking candidates interested in joining either of ADA’s Committees in 2023. Both ADA’s Policy & Finance Committee and Technical & Environmental Committee ably advise us on matters affecting our members’ flood and water management in the UK.

Becoming a Committee Member offers an opportunity to help steer and contribute to ADA’s work championing and campaigning for the sustainable delivery of water level management. They provide guidance, advice and support to our members across the UK, and help us inform the general public about our members’ essential work.

A role on an ADA Committee can help with your own personal development, and provides excellent opportunities to gain a broader understanding of flood and water management policy matters.

Each Committee typically meets three times a year, either by teleconference or in London. Reasonable travel expenses to attend are paid by ADA.

New Members

Members of both Committees typically serve terms of three years. Please be aware ADA is currently looking at reshaping its Committee’s structure and specific roles in 2024. In 2023 each Committee has several vacancies to be filled by candidates from across ADA’s membership. We are always on the lookout for a range of skills on ADA Committees.

In 2023, we have identified that each Committee would especially benefit from candidates with any of the following knowledge, expertise or interests:

Policy & Finance Committee

Technical & Environment Committee

financial management and funding, water resources,
local government and FCERM Policy, surface water management and SuDS,
legal expertise, and/or environment and ecological matters, and/or
public authority governance and accountability lowland flood and water engineering.

How to apply

To apply to join one of ADA’s Committees, simply let me know:

  • The name of the Committee you are interested in joining,
  • The organisation that is a member of ADA for which you are an employee or representative,
  • Job title or role, and
